Atiku to Tinubu: Wrestle With Your Failures, Not Opponents

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has urged President Bola Tinubu to focus on the record of his administration rather than on political confrontation.

Speaking through his senior special assistant on public communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku responded to the President’s declaration that he would wrestle his opponents to the finish, describing it as a diversion from the administration’s performance. He said it was troubling that the remark came in reply to an appeal by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria for credible, transparent and peaceful elections.

Atiku argued that a government presiding over a severe cost-of-living crisis should be focused on bringing down inflation, addressing hunger, restoring security, stabilising the naira and rebuilding public confidence, pointing to households skipping meals, insecurity affecting farming communities and highways, and persistent unemployment.
